We appreciate Mrs. Dawn Caldwell for her years of service to the students of Rome City Schools. Mrs. Caldwell is currently teaching in the Virtual Learning Academy. She is retiring in May 2022.

RCS Board of Education member Mrs. Pascha Burge visited PLC, RTA, and VLA on Monday to express appreciation to all faculty and staff for their dedication to the students of Rome City Schools. Mrs. Burge congratulated Mr. Dunn on 15 years in Rome City Schools. Mrs. Burge also expressed her appreciation to Mrs. Forsyth for her twenty-nine years in education.

Mrs. Billings and the PLC students released butterflies today!

VLA science teachers provided students with a live camera feed to observe the life cycle of butterflies. The butterflies are being released around the VLA campus. Aubrey shares a book about butterflies while Cameron searches for butterflies at his home.



Bowling! PLC students meeting the Be Rome expectations enjoyed bowling and a movie just before Spring Break. We are proud of these students! We are appreciative of Ms. Gail Veal and Communities in Schools for supporting the bowling trip and all the activities that celebrate the PLC students.

On Saturday, March 26, 11 students from Rome High School attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference at The Classic Center in Athens. Kilie Clark, pictured in the red blazer, is a student at the Phoenix Performance Learning Center. The students attended workshops on leadership, networked with other members from around the state, and competed in state and national level contests.

The Rome Board of Education will have a called meeting on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Rome Board of Education Administrative Offices in the former Boardroom located at 508 East Second Street.
The purpose of the meeting is to interview applicants to fill the board seat vacated by the resignation of Mr. John H. Uldrick as well as other items.

The Rome Board of Education will have a called meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Rome City Schools College and Career Academy located at 990 Veterans Memorial Highway NE in Room A201.
