Students in Dr. Stone's math class used the 100th Day of School to practice their skills related to the number 100. Students were challenged to spend exactly $100, tax included. Students took inventory of 100 items and charted the items in bar graphs. Students calculated percentages of budgets categories and practiced converting numbers from decimals to fractions. Some students looked at cities within a 100 mile radius of Rome.
PLC students enjoy Test It Tuesday each week with Mrs. Billings. Test it Tuesday was day 101 for the school year. Students were challenged to create "something" out of 101 different items. Brantley created a mosaic with 101 pennies. Jessa created a sculpture with 101 index cards. And Gabriel used 101 pipe cleaners to create flowers.
Phoenix Learning Center students shared homemade knit hats with students at Main Elementary School. These hats were made by the mother of Mrs. Lowrance, a Virtual Learning Academy teacher. We appreciate the opportunity to share kindness and warmth with others.

PLC teachers had fun with Time Warp Thursday.....the teachers went back in time to their teenage years!
PLC students enjoyed a Christmas movie and snacks after they finished their semester exams on Thursday. These students qualified for the movie by meeting the Be ROME expectations and earning the required HERO points. All students were invited to be part of the Holiday fun by wearing pajama bottoms or onesies.

As part of the PLC's Holiday Fun week, students and teachers enjoyed Minute-to-Win It games during Wolf Pack. The games required team work and a little creativity!
RCS is aware of the TikTok Challenge referencing school violence on December 17, 2021. The RCS community will see an increase in law enforcement around each school campus. Please report any additional concerns to school administrators. Safety is the top priority of RCS.
PLC students work together with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to fold and package pillowcase dresses. These pillowcase dresses are being sent to Haiti to share with children in need.
